What Color Is This Dress? True Color Vibes

What color is this dress?

A lot of people have been asked: What is the color of this dress? A lot of people answered that it's white and gold, but a lot also said that it's blue and black. So why are people looking at the same image seeing the colors differently? we've all  been taught that black is black and white is white, so what's really happening? What color is the real color of this dress?

With a little research, it was easy to find out that the image above and the question was actually posted by a female Tumblr user, who just wanted to ask friends about the real color of the dress. But since they couldn't agree, it quickly spread and broke the Internet. Up to now, people still can't agree about the color. The maker of the dress, Roman Originals, revealed that the picture is that of their Bodycon Royal Blue and Black dress. Experts say the different perception of colors is the result of the image being either over or under exposed. Either way, it's not a very good picture in terms of color representation.

Roman Originals actually has several color versions of the same Bodycon dress as shown on Amazon UK

Still, it seems strange that people see colors differently when looking at the same image. It could be that some people are more attuned to blue and black and others to white and gold. Colors do vibrate at different frequencies and people do identify with certain colors in different situations, circumstances, and "chakra lifetimes." It could be that some are attuned to a particular chakra/color, at a time, which causes them to perceive the world in one way that's distinct from what the others around see.

If you see the world through rose-tinted glasses, that's how you would see it. So, do you know the color of the glasses you wear through which you look at life?

Tandog for Dog Bites - Philippines Folk Medicine Remedy

Tandog. In the Philippines, the word "tandog" in places like Central Luzon usually refers to a folk medicinal item used for dog bites. Personally, I do not know where the tandog name comes from, but as Filipinos always like to play with words, it may actually be short for "tanngal dog," which in full English would mean "remove dog." It's just my theory which may or may not be true.

To use a tandog, it must be placed directly over the bite wound, and as traditional folk belief would have it, it would stick to the skin and draw out any infection or poison that's present, thus saving the victim from often fatal diseases like rabies. It won't stick if there is no poison. Although this item can be rare, it can be bought from traditional medicine stalls in local markets or near churches.

But what really is a tandog? What is a tandog made of? A tandog is usually small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. It may be flat and smooth on one side and rough on the other. At first glance, it would appear to be a flat gray piece of stone, but if you look closely, you'll see that it's really a piece of animal bone or part of the horn of a some animal like a carabao or local water buffalo. It's gray because it's likely been fired or heated over glowing embers to give it an ash-like consistency while still holding it's shape - charred in other words - but not charred black, only charred white.

In this semi-burned state, a tandog essentially turns into something like activated charcoal (also called activated carbon), which, we all know has the capacity to be absorptive due to it's being riddled with microscopic holes which collect toxins. This scientific explanation to a tandog's capacity to heal dog bites and reduce the risk due to poisons or pathogens may not be supernatural, but it does make sense.

The tandog pictured here was bought from a local market in the province of Batangas in Southern Luzon from an elderly woman, who, when asked what it was called, said she couldn't recall the name of the item. She only knew what it was for. A tandog is often part of a folk healer's or albulario's arsenal. The Tandog is often confused with the bato balani, which is a loadstone or magnetic stone.

What Chakra Lifetime Are You In?

Kundalini Yoga for Balanced Chakras DVD - alvinwriter

Chakra Pillow for Third Eye Intuition by Gurutej KhalsaSometimes, during those rare times when you get to be introspective, you may wonder what you're really doing in this life and who you were meant to share your life with, although even without consciously thinking or doing anything about, it you still and will end up with people who will share your life with one way or the other and who play a part in setting the stage for you. There will be people who you will not get along with and there will be those who will form a special bond with. You may wonder why this is so. There is a reason, and according to Gurutej Khalsa, a pioneering Kundalini yoga teacher in the United States, it concerns the lifetime you are in in terms of chakras.

You don't have to believe in chakras to appreciate what she's saying about lifetimes and chakras, but her explanation can give you enough insight to help you realize your life to the fullest. According to her, there are cycles in your lifetime, as well as the lifetime of each and every one of us. Each cycle (or lifetime as a whole) is related to one of the seven chakras, or what we'll call power centers of the body. Each chakra has an energy or vibration and a lifetime, whether yours or your friend's or family member, aligns with an energy level which corresponds to one of the chakras. If you are in the Crown Chakra, for instance, then you are peaceful and spiritual; if you are in the Second Chakra, then you are sexual and creative.

If you are a spiritual person and you get involved with someone who's lifetime cycle is in the second chakra, then you might not get along very well, such that a conversation with that person about healing candles will only lead to nowhere since the other person will be more interested in something less lofty. You are not sharing the same lifetime with this person, and while you may find each other interesting, you're not in the same vibrational level and if you're wondering if it can lead to a lasting relationship, think again. It can be an amazing experience, though. But the difference in lifetimes does not mean you're better than the other person or the other way around. It simply means you are in a different chakra lifetime. Gurutej Khalsa will say that all levels of experience reveal The Divine. She says, "Some just mix like water and oil—not very well. If you look at life from this place, then you will see that it is not about right or wrong; it is about what is effective for you in this incarnation."

To know what chakra lifetime you are in, learn to master your chakra energies and then allow yourself to see (or feel) your life from a neutral point of view. You can use physical tools like a Yoga Chakra Pillow and kundalini yoga meditation exercise techniques. When you become aware of your lifetime cycle chakra, you will begin to appreciate your life more and appreciate things that happen as gifts that you can enjoy. You will also attract the kind of lifelines (relationships) that will help you in your life journey.

Medicine Woman Reading Candles Sees the Dwarves in Wax

Old woman medium healer performs a candle reading ritual.

Can candles be used in place of crystal balls to have sight beyond sight? This old folk medicine woman in the Philippines easily answers that question as she practices reading candles, also known as candle wax or candle drip reading. It is a form of psychic scrying or divination wherein candle wax is either dripped or dropped into water where it forms a shape that's interpreted by the reader (see image below).

This Filipino medicine woman was consulted regarding the cause of a young man's skin condition. She has been reading candles as a living and is approached by locals for a variety of reasons - many relating to supernatural creatures like dwarves and other elemental beings which have been disturbed by people. This medium often gets visitors asking for candle readings.

In this candle reading, the wax formed the shape of two dwarfs (one large; one small). The pointed appearance of parts of the wax were seen as the pointed hats of the dwarves. To the untrained eye, a lot of imagination may be needed to see this, but this woman medium recognizes the figure of the dwarves immediately. She carefully wrapped the wax figure in a piece of newspaper and gave instructions to have the afflicted place it under his pillow before sleeping and also to burn incense. This psychic rituals are meant to appease the elemental being, or elementals (the dwarves or whatever), concerned so that they may forgive the human victim and reverse the punishment, which in this case took the form of a facial rash.

Going back to the question: Can candles be used for scrying and divination? For psychics and mediums, the answer is yes, but it's up to you to believe or not.

Roswell UFO Debris Collection of Neil Gould at the First Philippine UFO Convention

Neil Gould shows his Roswell UFO debris collection.

Neil Gould's Roswell debris collection.
It took two years to post this, but here it is finally - Neil Gould, UFO exopolitics expert and author of the book, Close Encounters of the ADHD Kind (see below) at the Philippines UFO Convention (2011) where he gave a talk and presented his collection of Roswell Incident UFO crash artifacts. An interesting individual with an intriguing past, Neil Gould has been asked by people if he's really an alien, to which he would answer with a straight face, "Add an "A" to my name and spell it backwards and see what you get." Some say that if you look at his eyes, you would see something different. Whether it's literal or not is up to you to decide.

But despite of talks of his being out of this world, Gould was pretty much down to earth at the convention, entertaining questions and showing of his collection of the Roswell Incident debris, which looked exactly like how debris found at the site have been described based on what other collectors had found. His prized collection was no different, looking like little pieces of twisted lead or galvanized iron sheets. They came from Roswell and, as people say, from outer space. If there are more of those, they/'re likely kept in Area 51 which has been connected to many UFO sightings and reportedly alien sightings.

On Petrus Romanus and The Prophecy of the Popes

The Prophecy of the Popes by Arnoldo Wion. 16th Century. Wikipedia

St. Malachy of Ireland. Wikipedia
I'd read about the Prophecy of the Popes a long time ago in an old book published by Reader's Digest. Purportedly from Saint Malachy (1094-1148), it predicted some of the Catholic Church's Popes up to the last one identified as Petrus Romanus, who, supposedly, will lead the Church's flock in a time of tribulation and destruction in Rome, when the "dreadful judge will judge his people." Intriguing, but is it true?

Pope Benedict XVI, who preceded Pope Francis, had been linked to the Malachy prophecy. He's supposedly the second-to-the-last-Pope with the title, The Glory of the Olive. Benedict's choice of name as Pope was inspired by St. Benedict of Nursia, who founded the Benedictine Order which has a branch called Olivetans. It's a stretch, but the connection is there.

Now with the new Pope, some people were challenged to connect him with Petrus Romanus (though it's also a stretch). Well, whether you believe in St. Malachy's Prophecy of the Popes or not, here's the imaginary connection I came up with, which is intriguing, nonetheless.

Here it goes. If you've followed the election process for the new Pope, a sea bird, which is common in Italy, came to rest on the Sistine Chapel chimney just before white smoke came out of it (black smoke meant "no Pope yet" and white smoke meant "yes, we've a new Pope").

Sea bird. Wikipedia.
In sailors' lore, sea birds warned of coming storms. One of these sea birds is the stormy petrel, which were omens to ancient sailors of bad weather ahead. The sea bird which alighted on the Sistine Chapel Chimney was identified as a Yellow-legged Gull, not a petrel, as petrels aren't found in the Vatican. But this gull may be seen as the petrel of Rome. Like the petrel, seagulls were also thought to cry out before a disaster and also warned of impending storms. It's believed these birds carried the souls of dead fishermen and sailors. The etymology of the word Petrel, according to Wiktionary, is, "Perhaps a diminutive of Peter, with reference to St. Peter's walking on water (Matthew 14:29). St. Peter, the first Pope, was once a fisherman who got off his boat and walked briefly on water to go to Jesus before he began to sink, supposedly, due of fear... From here on, you can follow though with your own thoughts, but you really shouldn't take it seriously.

TRIVIA: Pope Francis is the first pope to have visited the grave of St. Peter, the first pope, in the underground necropolis beneath the Vatican, after archaeologists found the site with an inscription that reads, "Peter is here" in 1965.

What Is "Usog" in the Philippines? "Kontra Usog" Amulet Contents Revealed

Kontra usog amulet from Pulilan, Bulacan, Philippines

In some parts of the Philippines, there’s this practice of putting saliva on the abdomen of a baby by someone who’s given the child impromptu notice, whether in greeting or contact. Visitors who’ve given attention to a baby may be asked by the parent or guardian to do this and state, "pwera usog." The act is supposed to counter the effects of usog which is similar to the concept of the ”evil eye” in Western culture. It’s said that anyone (although there are those who are more inclined to it), can unknowingly place a hex on a baby (or adult) causing it to feel ill.

A baby who’s under the influence of “usog” termed colloquially as nausog or nabati may start to vomit or show signs of fever. To remove the effects of usog, the person responsible must be called to smear saliva on the baby’s belly with a finger. If the person is not available, the alternative is to look for someone who can naturally counter the effects of usog. Such people are rare, but somehow, they instinctively know if a baby is under the influence of usog. If they rub the head of a baby affected by usog, it’s said the effects can be reversed. A person with this inherent healing ability once touched the head of a baby who’s been vomiting, supposedly as a result of usog, and immediately after, the baby repeatedly burped, relieving the discomfort. If there’s no one around who has this ability, the only option is to wait for the symptoms to subside on their own. If the symptoms are severe, the parents simply take the child to a doctor, letting go of any traditional beliefs to the wind.
If you go to one of those big old Catholic churches around the Philippines, you may find vendors in the vicinity selling charms, amulets, and talismans. Some of these are designed to counteract usog. The amulet pictured here is from Pulilan, Bulacan. It consists of red and black plastic beads strung in a garter. The red cloth pouch has a cross stitched on one side. It measures roughly 1 ¼ inch. The pin is what’s used to secure the usog amulet on clothing. A baby wearing this kontra usog amulet is supposed to give protection to the child.

Inside the “counter usog” amulet, there’s a rolled piece of paper secured by transparent tape. Opening this revealed what looked like powdered tree bark. The paper is obviously cut from a grade school textbook. Anybody who’s not familiar with the idea of usog will not understand the logic behind all these and that it’s all simply superstition, but to someone who believes and has faith, it all makes sense. In the end, it’s really all about a person’s faith in God and the counter usog amulet is just a crutch to support someone’s belief.

Ghost Hunting Teams Can Use Employee Monitoring Software

We have all seen it happen on reality television – ghost hunting teams working in coordination with one another on an assignment. Their goal is to document evidence of ghosts. They are paid to do their job right and they know how important it is to monitor the decisions and actions of their team members, whether the members are working in nearby areas or in distant locales. It is possible to keep track of what team members are doing with the help of software services like My Team Monitor, the provider of Employee Monitoring Software.

My Team Monitor can be useful for ghost hunters, professional or otherwise, because as the name suggests, it is a big help in monitoring your team. If you run a ghost hunting business and you pay people part time or full time to look for ghosts through online webcams or physically inside a haunted house, then you can use Employee Monitoring Software like the one from My Team Monitor. Using it, you can keep an eye on your workers and give you peace of mind that what they’re doing is exactly what you want them to do.

If you visit the site, you can see that the Employee Monitoring Software of My Team Monitor is currently in beta format, but it can be downloaded and installed for free for a time, which is good if you want to test the program. The website features videos of animation demonstrations to help you get started. It has links for the Boss, the Employee, and for the Office Administrator who may need to stealthily monitor employees’ work output in their workstations—just don’t forget to inform your employees that you have an eye on them.

We’ve all experienced how the Internet has changed the way people work. Whether it’s from the home or office, the kind of work you do—even if it’s ghost hunting—does not have to be done in an office that requires travel to get to. With services like My Team Monitor, you can be at “the office” anytime and anywhere and be connected with your boss or employee even when the workstation they’re using is on the other side of the globe. For managing ghost hunting teams, it’s the next best thing to having a live webcam to capture that elusive ghost. Just set up the system in a haunted house of choice and you’re all set to go. You may get lucky and capture more “ghosts” than you’ve bargained for.

Ghost Profile Appears in a Pic of Mother and Child

Do you see the ghost's face on the left side?

On a Sunday morning, after church in February, 2012,  in a subdivision in Rizal, two women together with a baby, decided to take a few pictures inside the house. There were just three of them in the room as they took the last few pictures - the one holding the cell phone, the mother and her baby. So where did the profile of the shadowy face on the left of the picture come from?

The profile of a ghost's face in the picture was a surprise. But ghosts appearing inside and outside of this apartment is nothing new. A Doppelganger has been seen on more than one occasion inside. On the driveway, a white lady lurks and she sometimes peers into the window of a car that used to park there at night when everyone is already asleep. Outside on the road, a guitar man is sometimes seen near midnight walking with his classical guitar who fades into nothingness.

Other ghosts aside, to whom does the face belong to? Is it that of a ghost, an elemental, or something else entirely? Was this otherworldly entity just curious or does it have anything important to say.

Orb and Ghostly Wisps in a Driveway in the Philippines

Photo of an orb and a wispy apparition in the Philippines.

Here is a photo of an orb (just right of center) and a wispy thing in a driveway in Rizal in the Philippines where sightings of purported ghosts and giant elementals have been reported. A lady in white was seen here when an apartment tenant came home late one night. While parking his car, he saw a women with long hair peeking into his window from the passenger side of the car. The woman disappeared. This supposed ghost of woman had been seen sometimes inside the apartment watching television with residents. Sometimes, she'd be mistaken as one of the residents, then she'd vanish.

On another night, the same resident came in again with his car. This time, it wasn't a ghost he saw, but a giant, hairy, filthy man about two floors tall. It seemed to be looking into a second floor window and it glared at him as he parked his car. Just like the ghost woman, this elemental disappeared.

In local folklore, the ghost woman is called a white lady and the giant man is called a kapre. The giant elemental would sometimes be seen by those gifted with the third sight lounging in ficus (balete) trees with a cigar that never runs out. It can acquire a fondness for local women and would visit them at night and attempt to do things to them that are not quite welcome to the victim. The dried tail of a stingray supposedly can keep them at bay.

The photo above contains an orb and a wispy apparition that have no known logical explanation, although it is possible they're just the result of particle in the air. The place is where a black cat often frequents. Magnification and contrast enhancement of the orb (left photo) reveals the details in the left picture. It appears to have an eye.

16th Century Filipino Teleporter Mystery

A painting by Cornelis Veerbeck XVI of a galleon at war. (Wikipedia)

Albrecht Durer illus. (Wiki)
Here is a possible case of “teleportation” recorded in 1593 AD. It’s about Gil Perez, a Filipino guard who, one morning, suddenly found himself at the plaza of the Palace in Mexico City. The night before, Gil was stationed at the Governor’s Palace in Manila in the Philippines.

The story of Spanish Era Filipino soldier Gil Perez has been told and retold time and again, but it has kept its simplicity. As he guard of the Governor’s Palace in Manila, he was doing his duty on that fateful night when, come morning, he found himself in a different place—the plaza in near the Palace in Mexico City! He was wearing a uniform different from the other guards and he must have caught the attention of people. He was brought to the Mexican authorities and was questioned by the Viceroy and his Council.

Gil Perez promptly introduced himself and explained how he was ordered to stand guard at the doors of the Governor’s Palace in Manila and how he later realized he was in a strange place. Being a loyal and obedient soldier, he insisted that he would continue with his duties as he had been told since he was still in a “palace of some kind” even when he had no memory of how he got there. He could not believe his ears when he was told he was in Mexico, at the other side of the world! He mentioned that the Governor of the Philippines, His Excellency Don Gomez Perez Dasmariñas took a blow to the head from an axe and died.

Unbelievable as his story was, Perez was then interrogated by Church authorities but he insisted he somehow traveled from Manila to Mexico in faster than a cock crows. It’s unclear, but Perez may have been accused of desertion or for practicing “the black arts” and was jailed. He languished in prison for two months in Mexico until a galleon arrived from Manila bringing news about the Governor of Manila being murdered. Passengers of the ship also recognized Perez and even remembered seeing him the day before he was arrested in Mexico. Dumbfounded, the Mexican authorities sent Perez home. To this day, what happened to Gil Perez is still a mystery.

Supernatural Mojo Store in Boracay Island

A tourist poses beside a mojo store display table in Boracay.

Here is a small mojo store in Boracay Island situated along world-famous White Beach. The stuff sold and displayed here appear to be charms which come from different places in the Philippines and abroad. For instance, many of the wooden statues on display are likely from the Northern mountain regions of the Philippines like Baguio. They are called anito and they represent either ancestral spirits or granary gods.

If you're into lucky charms and other scary stuff, then the items in this store should be of interest to you. It's hard to say what the items shown in the pictures are for. But you can see what appears to be a dream catcher in one of the pictures (top); there are also monkey skulls, which, in some cultures, are considered lucky. Sometimes, they are used to cast spells - for good or otherwise.

Boracay island is just off the northern tip of Panay island in the Philippines, where it is said, many residents practice a local form of witchcraft and where monsters like aswangs and manananggals roam at night looking for victims. The aswang is supposed to be like a werewolf that can shape-shift into a large dog through the application of a magical balm on the skin; the manananggal on the other hand, is a woman who can separate her upper body from her torso when she goes off in search of fresh, young human meat. Could there be charms in this store that will help protect you from such supernatural creatures? Could there be charms here that can turn you into an aswang? Perhaps they are just ordinary trinkets with no otherworldly powers at all? There's only one way to find out!

Orbs in a Moonlit Night in the Philippines

These photos were taken on a moonlit night in Rizal in the Philippines. The orbs that appeared seem to be at various distances and seem to have differing hues when examined closely. Whether or not these are merely the result of reflection from particles in the air, it's hard to tell. But the area is supposedly rife with supernatural beings. A interior picture taken reveals a bright orb near a folded mattress. How is this orb connected to the ones outside?

There have been tales of white lady ghosts, smiling dark-cloaked strangers appearing in the vicinity, and cigar-smoking ogres (kapre) knocking on second floor windows. In one road, there were reports of a specter wearing the traditional barong tagalog seen floating above the pavement. Are these real?

The orbs may be difficult to see, so please double-click on the images to see them in a bigger format. The bright "orb" in the first two pictures is actually the moon.
